Overview

Mudbillys Summer Sends is a fast-growing, high-energy off-road motorsport event that blends motocross, multiple racing classes, and pure festival vibes. On the track, the action is relentless.. from two-wheel battles to the legendary Van Prix. Off the track, the energy continues with eating competitions, mullet contests, food vendors, and shopping stalls.

Evolution Media came on board as the official media partner, taking full ownership of content capture across the weekend. Our role was to not only document the madness, but also to give Mudbillys the digital presence it deserves. Building a library of high-quality, versatile content to engage audiences year-round.

The Challenge

Before 2025, Mudbillys lacked a dedicated media team with high-level event coverage experience. The organisers knew they needed more than just raw clips. They wanted storytelling, structured coverage, and a content strategy that could carry the brand between events.

The scope of the event presented its own challenge. Large-scale racing, multiple activities happening simultaneously, and the risk of missing the “unmissable” moments. Careful pre-production planning was essential to ensure every angle was covered.

Our Approach:

We deployed a core Evolution Media crew of three. With Wes leading video capture, Becca supporting camera ops and logistics, and Jake running the Mudcast podcast interviews. We worked alongside the livestream team and partnered drone operators to integrate aerial footage and live coverage into our post-production pipeline.

Our setups included:

  • Trackside filming in 4K at 100fps for cinematic slow motion and speed ramping.

  • Pit and audience coverage for atmosphere and personality.

  • Podcast zone “Mudcast” hosting a wide variety of guests including riders, organisers, and the one and only King Billy.

  • Partnership integrations, such as post-event sponsor shoots.

 

Creative Direction

Our visual style aimed to bottle the “Just send it” spirit of Mudbillys. From the chaos of the Van Prix to intimate behind-the-scenes moments, we focused on big energy, bold editing, and moments that make you want to be there.

Key creative calls included:

  • Capturing personality-driven moments with figures like Jim York and King Billy.

  • Staging fun audience interactions to show the community feel.

  • Designing multiple edit formats for different purposes: hype aftermovies, sponsor-focused reels, and social-friendly micro-content.

  • Teaser Trailer — to build hype before the aftermovie launch.

  • The People of Mudbillys — 1-minute fast-paced crowd edit.

  • BTS Podcast Edit.

  • 13 Podcast Episodes ready for a bi-weekly release schedule.

  • Across Instagram alone, our Mudbillys edits achieved:

  • 1,360 likes

  • 215 comments

Audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with comments like:

Josh and the Mudbillys team were “over the moon” with the coverage, praising how we captured the energy, community, and madness of the event. 

 

Future Scope

For 2026, the goal is to scale up; more cameras, more on-board rider and in-vehicle footage, expanded livestream integration, and more presenter-led content. The Mudcast series will run bi-weekly, keeping the Mudbillys conversation alive all year, building hype for what’s set to be an even bigger and better event.
